Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North Member Of Parliament William Ruto who were in Malindi are expected to address a rally in Mombasa’s Tononoka grounds this afternoon to woo voters on their side in the forthcoming general elections. The two have been traversing the country seeking support for their election in the top job despite being indicted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity. Their candidature has however being criticised by a section of leaders including Justice Minister Mutula Kilonzo who has termed it illogical. Their presence at the coast is widely seen as a move to create opposition for Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is a favourite at the coast. The court has however issued a ruling against debating the viability of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto to run for presidency.

Sarah Obama survives accident

www.ntv.co.ke US president Barrack Obama’s grandmother Sarah Obama sustained minor injuries when she was involved in a road accident on Saturday night along the Kisumu – Siaya road.Mrs. Obama was travelling from Kisumu to her home in K’ogello when her driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake and landed in a ditch. The accident happened at around 9 pm but nobody was seriously injured. Mrs. Obama was taken to the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, where she was treated for minor bruises and shock then discharged after two hours.

KPA conducts container census
